Weekend Marina Supervisor & Assistant Dock Master
$16-$18 per hour
1 Free Slip Rental at the Marina for your Boat (does not include utilities)
20-30 hours per week (rotated within these hours Friday/Saturday/Sunday & Holidays 8a-8p)
The Marina at Admiral’s Hill is seeking an Assistant Dockmaster & Weekend Marina Supervisor for the 2018 season. In this role, the dockmaster should be an ambassador of the marina and will often be the first person with whom a customer will interact. He or she is responsible for the safe mooring of vessels, assisting boaters, and maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the marina facilities. He or she will supervise the renting of boat slips and ensure that boaters observe all marina rules and regulations.
Supervise part-time weekend dock staff
Conduct and oversee dock walks including reporting what vessels are out, maintain clean and tidy docks, managing parking on busy weekends, and general customer assistance and service to boaters.
Direct, move, assist and securely moor vessels to dock
Assist traffic along waterway
Clean dock area and maintain an orderly environment
Collect dockage fees
Maintain accurate records related to billing and collection of dockage fees
Report and document safety hazards, potentially hazardous conditions, and unsafe practices and procedures
Assist in the maintenance of the marina
Must be comfortable working in a marina environment and working flexible hours
Should have a driver’s license
Must have the ability to talk to and around customers in a professional manner
Must have customer service skills.
The ability to swim in an emergency and feel comfortable around the ocean/river
Ability to continuously stand or walk
Ability to bend, climb stairs and lift frequently.
Climb up onto and down from equipment
Climb up and down ladder
Able to manipulate small hand tools
Work will be conducted in and around marina docks, boatyard and office
May encounter outdoor temperatures ranging from 30 degrees to 95 degrees
May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces
Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud
